I was standing on a beach 60 Miles south of Cape Kennedy at sunset, waiting for a Delta 4 being launched. The launch was to take place within an hour and a half window, so I asked someone to help me by staying tuned into his computer to let me know when the launch was about to happen. He called me with five seconds of notice, and it was just the right timing. The launch could not have happened at a more perfect moment for this photographer as this photo was captured during the last piece of sunlight. Even a few minutes later, the background would have been completely dark.
