Historic Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. completed in 1913. The cathedral has played a significant role in the religious and civic life of Washington, D.C. It is known for its beautiful stained glass windows, impressive interior, and the important events that have taken place there, including the funeral of President John F. Kennedy in 1963. This photo was taken looking up at the ceiling in the main sanctuary.
